Vintage Chinese Hand Carved Soapstone Inserted'4 Seasons Flowers' Wood Plaques / Wall Art Set. Made in China 1950-70's. The theme are 4 Flowers that in Chinese culture, they represent the 4 season: Peony - Spring, Lotus - Summer, Chrysanthemum - Autumn, Chimonanthus - Winter. Different color stones were used to depict the different parts of the flowers and hand carved with fine details of the flower's petals, grains of the leaves etc.

Great vintage condition with a few light scratches, scuff marks at the corner(last 2 photos). Please see photos for detail. The technique of insertion was to carve the patterns on the woods, then insert the stones in. Due to the hand carving, there is always a little bit gap between the stone & the wood, which is normal not a defect (photo10). Measurements: 10'' L x 6'' W x 1/2'' D.
