Vintage 5 Tier Octagon Chinese Wedding Wicker Basket Lacquer Wood MAITLAND SMITH (well known for high-end luxury furniture and decorative goods design). 15 high to top of carved wood lacquered handle.
11 1/2 wide (side of handle to other side of handle). Top is lacquer decorated with gold paint landscape.
Sides of tiers and inside top tier lid are tiny strands of bamboo woven into intricate patterns, different for each layer. Very good vintage used condition, for age and delicacy of object, some wear of the wicker on the side, 1st tier, see pictures 5 & 6. Some flaking of finish on wood between tiers. I have not cleaned of polished the item except to lightly dust surface.
