Antique Chinese Carved Wood Vase or Bowl Stand for up to 3 11/16 base. It is about 5 7/8 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. It weighs about 197 grams. It is in good condition as shown.
Small split in the rim as shown. It has a very slight rock when on a hard flat surface (a piece of paper on one foot surface corrects the rock). The top (the part the vase sits in), is about 3 11/16" across the grain and about 3 7/8" along the grain. Ie, this stand will work for a vase or bowl with a base diameter of up to 3 11/16 inches.
When vase stands age, the wood on the top (base of the stand), shrinks faster across the wood grain, than along the grain. This is a basic method of telling if a round wood item has age.
All our vase stands are vintage or antique, so they will be slightly oval. When giving the vase/bowl base size this stand will fit, we have measured the narrowest distance (ie across the wood grain).The distance along the grain will be slightly longer.
